Learning Something New

A quote I use the most from my dad is “If you are going to do a job do it right or don’t do it at all.”  That piece of advice I have tried to pass on to my children as well.  I have found it to be good and wise instruction.  As parents we are charged by God to bring up our children.  Ephesians 6:4 “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

The impressions made upon us when we are young are the foundations of who we become as adults.  However, it is never too late to change you ‘spots’ so to speak.  Even as adults we should always be open to learning something new.  Only God knows it all so there are plenty of new things for us to learn.  Once we accept Christ as our Savior we are also filled with the Holy Spirit.  Through the prodding and enabling of the Holy Spirit we can change, and learn new things.  By continuing to learn more about God we will spiritually grow.  Our relationship with Him will strengthen and be better.  We do not have to be stagnant like still water.  We can be full of life and strength like a raging river…
