Scripture:
One morning at the coffee shop we were talking with a fire fighter. He his in the process of starting a couple of business ventures. We were going over all sorts of business ideas. He had several good ones for different businesses. I stated that with all the business ideas you have you should be rich. a few weeks later, OK maybe a month or two, he wrote an article in a local paper. In his article he went on about riches. How even though he hadn't a lot of money he was still rich.
Truth be told true wealth doesn't come from here. Our true wealth lies in Christ. What is all the gold worth after you leave this life? You cannot take it with you. What good are all the comforts of this world if you reside in hell for eternity? Jesus tells us to store our riches in heaven. Romans 10:12 (NASB) "12For(A)there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is (B)Lord of (C)all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;"
We can be like the rich man who left Jesus sad because of his wealth or we can be come to Jesus full of heavenly riches. We can store riches here on earth where it will rot, dwindle away, or be stolen and in the end we lose it all. Either that or we can store our wealth in heaven were we will spend eternity. My family may not have a lot of monetary wealth but we are extremely rich in the glory of God.
God is in the hearts of all my children. My six year old told my wife that she wanted Jesus in her heart one afternoon after church. As our children's minister would say Jesus is her forever friend. Is He your forever friend? He is mine...

Our father in heave we pray for you to bless us and help us to store heavenly riches. We pray for strength and perseverance to be true to You. Help us to look beyond worldly wealth and to keep our focus on heavenly wealth...
