The Joy of His Salvation

Scripture:

This morning as I read my devotionals this morning two things come to mind. Being renewed by God and all that we do should be in service to Him. If we keep our focus on Christ everything else will seem to fall into place. However, that is easier said than done. As sinners we stumble and fall a lot. After sinning I know I feel the weight of it as if it were sitting on my shoulders. At times it can overwhelm us into more guilt. If we are not careful we can slip into a downward spiral that further separates us from God.

David in Psalm 51 asked God to cleanse him. He pleaded with God to renew a right spirit with in him. The good news is that God will not forsake us. Christ died on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. All we have to do is to repent of our sins seeking Christ first in our lives. God will renew our spirits. He will restore unto us the joy of His salvation. Jesus tells us to place our burdens upon Him. Jesus bore the weight of our sins when He was nailed to the cross.

When something makes you happy you instinctively want to share it with others. There is no greater joy than having our sins removed. No greater joy than the joy of His salvation being restored to us. We gain fellowship with God through Christ. Because of this we need to share that joy and His love with others.

Peter tells us that love covers a multitude of sins. Through grace we receive the Holy Spirit. When we receive the Holy Spirit we are given spiritual gifts. Peter tells us to use our gifts for God's glory. As Christians we are the hands, feet, and mouths of God. A body is made up of various parts. So the body of Christ is made up of people with different gifts and talents. Each of us have our own set of gifts and talents let us use them accordingly. We would not use a hammer to put in a screw. We wouldn't use scissors to cut our lawns. So why should we try to use our spiritual gifts in ways that they are not intended for?

All of us have strengths and weaknesses. Let us help each other see our strengths and use them to glorify God. As one body let us serve others in order to share the joy and salvation Christ has given us. Through Jesus the joy of salvation has been given to us. Through our service we can share and spread that joy and salvation to others. People without Christ are searching for something, even if they do not know what they seek. Let us help them find Jesus and the joy He brings.
