Scripture:
When it is time to get ready for a scout trip the troop has the scouts, mainly the younger ones, bring their backs in for inspection. They do what we call a shake down on the backs. This is to ensure that the scout has everything needed for the trip. If something is missing it is suggested that the scout adds it to his pack. If they pack too much it is also suggested that some unneeded items are removed.
In Ephesians 6:25-36 we are told to put on the full armor of God. This is so that we can be prepared when Satan attacks. Without the proper equipment or preparation we cannot hope to withstand. As a scout prepares for his camp out with the proper equipment so must we prepare ourselves. In John 6:35 Jesus tells us He is the Bread of Life. It is when we consume ourselves with the Word of God and Believe in Christ that we can withstand. Ephesians 6:14-18:
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
By preparing ourselves with the Holy Spirit, faith, and the Word of God we will be prepared for any attacks that Satan throws at us. We must also keep in constant prayer keeping ourselves filled with the Holy Spirit. Through our faith Christ makes us Righteous.
