Do You Have Ears?

Scripture:
Revelation 2:13-17
(NIV)

I know where you live—where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, not even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city—where Satan lives.

Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food, sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality. Likewise, you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.
Devotional:

“Only the shadow knows…”  How often do we feel forgotten, or in an impossible situation?  There are movies, comics, and books about super heroes that come and save the day.  One such hero was the Shadow.  He knew all things.  He fought evil as repentance of his evil days.  It seemed he was always lurking in the shadows of people’s minds, or around the next corner waiting.  There is one who really does know all.  He really is not just around the next corner but right there with you.

God knows all things, sees all things, and hears all things.  We cannot hide from Him.  We do not have to fear being alone, left behind or forgotten.  In Revelations 2 God tells us that He knows where we are.  He knows where Satan is.  As long as we remain faithful to Him we have nothing to fear.  God will be with us and see us through. He is our rock and foundation.  It is by His grace that we will be victorious.  When God comes, on whose side do you want to be on?  Most of us want to be on the winning team.  Jesus already won; the enemy just doesn’t realize it yet. Revelation 2:17 (NASB):

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’
